Easy Vegan Mushroom Gravy

This gravy is creamy, rich and delicious. It's made with just a few ingredients and is so easy to make. Pour this gravy over mashed potatoes, savory toast, roasted tofu and more.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 Cups Cremini Mushrooms cored & thinly sliced
  • ¾ Cup Yellow Onion diced
  • 4 Tbsp Vegan Butter
  • ¼ Cup White Flour
  • 3 Cups Vegetable Broth
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions
 

  • Heat a skillet over medium high heat
  • Add butter to pan
  • Once butter has liquified add onions and mushrooms
  • Season with salt and pepper and sautee until soft about 8 minute, being careful not to let the butter burn
  • Sprinkle vegetables with the flour and saute until the flour has soaked up all the butter and the mixture is a paste-like texture
  • Slowly add the broth to the pan stirring as you add
  • Bring the gravy to a low simmer and cook, stirring frequently, until the gravy is thick about 15 minutes
  • Taste and add salt and pepper if needed
