Smoothies are such a huge staple in our house and this Creamy Orange Smoothie is one of my personal favorites. We make smoothies all the time, which is a whole lot easier since last Christmas when Austin bought me a high powered blender.
I’d been wanting one for a while but let’s face it, they are expensive. One thing that I’ve learned in the past year or so is how much better it is, in the long run, to save up and choose quality, long lasting products. Especially for products that we use often. We had gone through at least three cheapo blenders in the past couple years! That’s not good for our wallets or for trying to limit our waste. Now we’ve only had this new blender a few months but I have a feeling this one is going to last a whole lot longer. Oh and it works SO much better! Win/win!
Let’s Talk Oranges
This Creamy Orange Smoothie is perfect year round but is especially fabulous during the long winter months when citrus is in season. We can find oranges in the grocery store year round but during winter there is definitely more of a variety.
There are so many different types of oranges. This year Sumo oranges, a relative newcomer to the US,
For our Creamy Orange Smoothie we’ve used just about any type of orange we have in the house. Even little baby mandarins (although you’ll need to add an extra few if you go that route) and blood oranges. They are all equally delicious in my opinion.
This smoothie is perfect for a healthy, nutritious breakfast or a quick afternoon power snack!
